Blount County Schools and Oneonta City Schools provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to become successful, productive citizens. The 18 school sites in Blount County and Oneonta (seven high schools, nine elementary/middle schools, one career tech center, one alternative school, and one multi-needs school) have a combined enrollment of over 8,000 students.
There are computer labs in each elementary and high school, providing a seamless integration of technology into learning opportunities. High-speed internet access is available in all Blount County Schools and Oneonta City Schools. In addition, Locust Fork High School is one of the only high schools in the country to boast two blended learning digital classrooms, providing unsurpassed college and career technical level learning opportunities to students.
Christian, private, and other options are also available in Blount County. Mount Pleasant Church Kindergarten offers pre-k and kindergarten options, and Victory Christian School accepts students from kindergarten through tenth grade. There is also an active homeschooling group with options for outside learning through the Neely Arts Center and public libraries located in Oneonta and Blountsville.
